Samuel Perathoner was born in 1970 in Bolzano.
He grew up in Val Gardena, a valley with a rich tradition in wood carving. He went to school of arts and later attended professional school for wood carving.

After graduating, he began to work as a freelance wood carver in his own workshop. He lives and works in Selva, Val Gardena.
